Byzantine Heads - Blonde

Unlike his familiar compositions where plants entwine around a full-length female figure, this work deliberately focuses on and crops only the head and shoulders. Because the viewer's gaze is concentrated on the head, the intricate detail of the exotic ornamentation covering her forehead, and the beauty of her flowing, wavy hair extending beyond the circular frame are even more emphasized.

However, in fact, these two works, 'Blonde' and its counterpart 'Brunette', were not merely beautiful prints, but became a significant turning point that greatly expanded Mucha's career as an artist.
